You are a life saver! That was it! QT 7.4 does not work with the JVC plugin and I could not figure out how to revert... you did it, THANKS!

So can anybody give me step by step instructions to make this work? It seems like when I followed photodave's solution, it worked, but when I tried to import the files into fcp, the video was enlarged or something so you could only see a portion of the shot. I'm not too literate with any of this stuff as I'm kind of a beginner, so step by step instructions would be great. Thanks a lot!

All of us can use QuickTime V.7.4 even 7.4.5(newest version)

So, I´m just about to buy JVC Everio GZ-HD7. What´s the conclusion after all these discussions? Do I get GZ-HD7 to work with FCP 5.1.4, QT 7.4.1 in MAC OS X 10.4.11?

I need to edit Europian format Full HD 1920*1080/50i.

I too am looking at buying the JVC GZ-HD7 and using it with Final Cut Pro 6. But I am left a little unclear by this thread as to whether it will produce a file that I at least can convert to one that FCP will recognize without too much hassle and maintain its quality.

The best way to do it, it's copy and paste your files from your camera in you Mac Desktop, them use a program like VisualHub, that's the one i used, then convert the TOD file to any format you wants. for final cut just select DV and check mark the option to able for final cut and that' it.

don't worry too much, i think i knwo what is going on. in your viewer window in fcp, you'll probably see 100% button, click on it and choose the option fit to window. that is probably what is going on. all should be well. if not then i'm a monkey's uncle and have no idea what i am talking about
