AppleScript for taking screen shots

Hello there,

Does anyone has an apple script to automate taking screen shots. I need to capture the contents of the screen every certain amount of time while a program is running, so I thought that maybe through a script I could accomplish that. Please advise.

Is there a way to run the script automatically every certain period of time?

Thanks for your help.

Hi Miguel

Simpler than creating an Applescript is to open Grab, then use Command Shift 4 keys to allow your cursor to select over the text or image that you want to capture.
It will automatically save the image to the Desktop as a .pdf.
Grab does not even have to be to the foreground application for this to work, just launched.

Hi Roam,

The problem with your recommendation is that I would need to be in front of the computer. What I want to do is run a program and take pictures of its outputs to the screen, but it's going to run over 24 hours and I'd like to have screen shots every minute, therefore I need something that does it automatically. Can that be done with Grab too?

Regards,
