Creating a CHEQUE Template? Don't Want to Pay The Banks...
I would like to create a cheque template, so I don't have to order them from the bank. Anyone done this? Something like 4 or 5 to a page, with fillable fields to add info (i.e. date, amount..) Other data can stay locked (Business name, Signature, etc.).
There's a lot of information and links about check printing at this
About.com page.
Synopsis: usually when people print their own checks, they print the entire check, already made out. You can buy check paper stock with security features, and magnetic ink which can increase the acceptance (and processing speed) some.
Any object that is "fixed to page", including text objects, can be locked from the Arrange menu. A locked object cannot be edited without first unlocking it.
The checks that you buy at the bank have special security features. It is unlikely that anyone will accept home printed checks because they will suspect fraudluent activities. Sorry.
