When I don't have my mac on the adapter, my mac shuts off without warning when the battery drains, and I loose all my work. It used to give me 15 minutes warning or so, so I could save my work.
just have got the 3rd replacement of my macbook battery. after installing the first 3 times "going to sleep after the battery warning" worked.
the 4th time my book shuts down immediately (after battery warning and draining to 0%)
what seems strange to me is: in the beginning battery capacity was around 5200mAh. After failing to go to sleep the capacity is constantly between 5600 and 5700 mAh.
Apple Store replaced my battery (I had to show them screen shots I took showing date and Apple Profile charge cycles to prove I was having problems prior to 300 cycles.) They checked some stuff online and decided to give me a free replacement (my Macbook turns 1 year in October.)
So far it is working although if I have the energy status turned off on the menu bar, I get no warning of low battery. The Genius didn't know if this was normal behavior and I can't find anything on this at Apple.
I hope I don't have to post on this subject again. I know some of you have had 2 or 3 replacements only to have the same problem again. I still think it has something to do with that 2.2 (?) battery update.
