How do you make square brackets with the keyboard on this thing?

Needed for Matlab!

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.4.9)

On the US keyboard they are the two keys to the right of the "P". Square brackets are produced unshifted and curly brackets shifted.

Yeah, I figured as much but thought if you knew where it was on the US keyboard it might help you find them on yours. Guess that doesn't work.

OK, then open the International preference of System Preferences. Click on the Input Menu tab (rightmost tab.) Check the box to display the Keyboard Viewer. You should now have a menu bar item for the Keyboard Viewer. When you select, it should open the viewer so you can find the location of the keys for the brackets. I "assume" it will be in French but I'm not sure. Obviously I don't have a French keyboard to test this out.

On a French keyboard, square brackets are typed by pushing the Option and Shift keys at the same time as the matching curly bracket key.

Thanks to both of you. Both answers were right, although I'd have thought "curly brackets" were these, which weren't on the keyboard either: {} (which are in fact on the same keys, in that case with Command instead of Option-Shift). The Keyboard Viewer will obviously keep me from posting any more questions like this.
