Safari 3 crashes everytime it opens.

That is exactly the same error I see. People with Athlon CPUs older than Athlon XPs (like you and I) are all reporting similar errors. I'm told it is calling an SSE routine that was added only in newer Athlon chipsets. I'm also told that it is a similar bug to the iTunes 7.2 bug that failed the same way for me. They will have to recompile a build that makes more compatible SSE calls in order to fix it, I fear.

Check if path to your account have non-ascii chars.

For example:
"C:\Documents and Settings\zażółć" will crash Safari, but
"C:\Documents and Settings\zazolc" will not 😉

My account was "Andr és", so I changed to "Andr es" and Safari oppened!!

Sounds like you may have the missing font problem. If so, the problem is a bug that Apple is aware of. A work around is listed here:

However, if you are patient I suspect an update may address this problem, as the work around involves a little effort on your part.

That didn't fix mine. Mine is "Dylan Anglada". Tried changing to "dylan", still crashed

I agree that generally that should be the case, however, you are assuming that your situation is common, when it probably is not. Based on my purely subjective experience, I suspect most Windows users are having little problem with the browser installing. The purpose of a Beta is to catch bugs that often are a result of unique situations on a computer (e.g. the font bug on Windows).

Just because it's a beta, it still shouldn't be
crashing and not work AT ALL.

anyone can't get the start bar showed while running safari maximized?

Mine still crashes at startup with the coregraphics.dll error. I've tried the fonts solution (fonts.plist) as well as looking for non-ASCII characters in my User names (nothing there) to no effect.

Any other thoughts or recommendations would certainly be appreciated.

I uninstalled the 3.0.1 version and downloaded and installed the 3.0.2 version. Most of my problems vanished.

Yes!! 3.0.2 version fixed me up!! Runs a lot better (faster & cleaner) than all the latest IE, Opera, and Firefox browsers on my antiquated system!!
