cad software for loft conversion

I am looking to try and convert my loft space into a room, and would like to try and design the look of the room. Im not an experience CAD designer but would like to give it a try if anyone has a suggestion of any software I can try. Please help.

Macbook Pro 15.4inch 2.33Mhz 120Gb hard disk, Mac OS X (10.4.9)

Take a look at Live Interior. I've only given it a quick look, but it might work for you. You can download a demo version and try it before you purchase.

You might take a look at Google Sketchup. It's the free version of Sketchup Pro. I've not actually used it.
