Problem with Yahoo Messenger for MAC

my yahoo messenger was working perfectly till today. it refuses to automatically scroll down to the latest or newest message. i have to manually scroll down each time i wanna read a new message which is extremely inconvenient & annoying. how to i go about resolving this problem?

i tried uninstalling yahoo messenger by dragging the yahoo messenger icon into the trash then download & reinstall yahoo messenger from scratch but problem still persists.

i'm very new to mac, only got my macbook 4 days ago. any help will certainly be appreciated.

Perhaps emptying the Caches would help, actually I'd do more, and my preferred method is to use Applejack...

After installing, reboot holding down CMD+s, then when the prompt shows, type in...

applejack AUTO

Then let it do all 5 of it's things.

At least it'll eliminate some questions if it doesn't fix it.

I guess the next step to isolate the problem would be to make a new User in Accounts Pref Pane, log into that one, install yahoo messenger, then see if the same problem exists.

Sorry, without installing/using Yahoo Messenger... I'm out of ideas. 😟

Well, maybe one last idea, get EasyFind and search the whole disk for yahoo, perhaps there is something put in System or Library that needs removal before a reinstall.

yes, i downloaded safari beta 3 two days ago!

actually, i posted my problem in the yahoo messenger Q&A board without searching thru the board 😝 no wonder i didn't get any reply over there. hahaha.

heres the answer my friend! its a little complicated but read the steps carefully, apparently in the written code is wrong and you will need to replace it. follow this thread to fix it, i already did it and it works like normal now
