Disappearing email from Inbox

Over the last few weeks email in my Inbox section have vanished as soon as I leave Mail. I have not changed any "rules" and I have not accidentally deleted my mail. This is a real nuisance as I often leave email that need an answer in for a few days before replying. I can no longer do so. I have Googled for help and see that countess others complain about this problem but I can find no solution. Can anyone here any offer any help, please?

Emails disappear randomly I'm running Apple Mail on Mojave and have noticed that every once in a while an email will show up in the inbox and when I click on it to open it disappears never to be seen again. Any idea what might be causing this? I just had one appear in my inbox and before I could click on it to open, it disappeared. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks, Mike

Disappearing emails I am using Mail Version 14.0 (3654.120.0.1.13) on BigSur 11.6 (Mac mini M1). Recently, I had the same problem twice: I receive an email with some attachments; I move the email to another folder (once to a local folder, once back to inbox from the spam folder by clicking on the corresponding button on top of the email). Then my email fully disappears when closed. A search in Mail in all the accounts does not give anything. In both cases, I had to figure out how to contact the sender to ask for a copy of the email.
