Cracked Screen- Warranty?

My Ipod Nano has a cracked screen starting at the lock button all the way down on the right half of the screen. Is this covered in the warranty or do i have to pay the $89 to get it fixed? I got it for Christmas and its still under warranty. Any help is appreciated =)

"You should learn to treat objects like woman - with love, respect, and care"

You're obviously someone who doesn't work out. The reason I got this iPod over an iPod touch was because of the clip feature that would allow it to be easier to run with and not feel like I was lulling around a satellite on my arm. I was using the clip as it was meant to be used, clipped to the collar of my shirt, and it fell off, hit the ground, and broke. Complete accident. I realize it's not covered by the warranty due to the nature of the accident, but the fact that you seem to think I have maliciously mistreated my property is offensive.

You're obviously confusing me with someone else. I work out every day. Despite that, I've never dropped my iPod Nano.

You've inferred something that I never implied. Accidents do not constitute malice. The fact that you treat women as you treat your iPod is offensive.

Okay, my boyfriend got me a product (red) ingraved 16 gig nano for christmas. It fell not even an inch onto the console of my car and the screen is badly cracked on both top corners after only using it 4 times. I have accepted the fact that Ihave to pay to get it fixed. Is Best Buy considered an "apple store" because it sells apple products? Would it be cheaper than $89 shipping it to apple?

Exactly the same thing happened to mime - incredibly irritating as I thought the small nano with a clip would be great to excercise with but the reality appears to be they are stupidly delicate and can't withstand anything. Even more irritating is that it new because my 18 month old ipod died without warning. Am about to give up on apple products
