How can I record with GarageBand 1.3 in the background using other app?

How can I record with GarageBand 1.3 in the background using other app?

I use iPad 2 with iOS 6 and GarageBand v1.3.

I'd like to play an other app like Sunrizer synth while the GarageBand is recording in the background in a track.

By now I can do it only using the build-in mic of iPad, but this is not the point.

Can I record other apps in a GarageBand track?

Thanks a lot for your time.

If GB ever supports the Audiobus app or similar, then you will be able to do what you (I and others) are asking for. Until then, the only method I've found will work for apps with some form of inbuilt recording ability, e.g. Animoog and Sunrizer.

Set GB to Play In Background, set it playing (with metronome if necessary), open your other app and set it to record. Play along, when you're done stop recording, then save the recording to the clipboard. Go back to GB, add a new audio track, place the song position pointer and Paste.

This works but is far from perfect. I haven't used Audiobus...yet... because I like GB, and I would need to use an input app\recording app which does support AB. But I can feel the itch to switch. Please Apple! Keep me a GB loyalist! Support Audiobus!
