iPad 2 dies during an iOS 6.1 update. iTunes won't Restore.

My iPad 2 hung during an iOS 6.1 update. The Apple logo comes up briefly, then the "connect to iTunes" graphics. iTunes attempts to restore it, but gives me a message that the software download is corrupt, and to try again later. After 8 tries, still the same problem.I can't switch off the iPad, and I've tried the home/sleep button reset in various forms. Any ideas please?

Problem with that solution. I get error 3194. How did you get around error 3194?

Apple broke my iPad 2 with Update 6.1. It's been a brick for a month now. I finally got it to boot up into DFU mode, and iTunes tries to recover, but it always fails with error 1604. From what I've read Update 6.1 breaks the USB driver on the iPad itself.

Yes, everything is a fresh install, including my OS. No anti-virus now either, to avoid iTunes conflicts.

Anyway, I'm so excited about Apple handing me a brand new shiny iPad 2 to replace the one THEY BROKE! I just have to get to an Apple store now.
