Notes Doesn't Sync with iCloud

I'm trying to sync notes between all my devices, including 2 MacBook Pros, iPad and iPhone via iCloud. A few days ago they stopped syncing. I lost a lot of work on my Mac when the notes went missing after relaunching the app (the notes were gone). Then I realized that none of the devices are synching notes with iCloud (checked at iCloud.com). I disabled iCloud Note in Mac and tried to re-enable it and this is what it says: "Notes can’t be enabled at this time."

Does anyone have positive experience solving similar issues?

I have a Motorolla wireless router (and cable modem) and I logged into the router admin interface to disable the firewall. There was a firewall tab with 4 levels of firewall, I chose to turn off firewall completely. The process might differ from model to model. Btw, this firewall also prevents the Apple TV activation process (time server is blocked by firewall).

Thanks for keeping tabs on us Shiblee! If you can keep an eye on this, then we can see what John comes back with on my last post. My rounter is from the cable company, so I don't have any control over it or its settings....

So, if John has one which he can configure, then we may need a walk-thru if we get to that point!

Thanks again for hangin' in there with us! Much appreciated!!!

Cheers,

Hi John,

Well, the only part I can direct you on at this point is the check on your Mac Firewall....Click on the Apple in the upper left-hand corner, then System Preferences>Security&Privacy>Firewall....make sure it is turned Off.

If it is turned ON, then turn it off and retry the Notes test.

If it is turned OFF, and the notes are still not syncing from your Mac, then we need Shiblee to let us know whether or not you would be able to even check your Cable Modem for the Firewall piece....

Keep us posted!

I could access my cable modem router admin interface at http://192.168.100.1 (Motorola). I can access my other router at http://192.168.2.1. Depending on the model, it could also be at http://192.168.1.1. You usually login with credentials provided in the modem/router package and/or manual.

I guess if you are not sharing files in your network, it is sort of okay to turn off router firewall. Firewalls usually block unwanted network traffic from outside your home network network.

So what is the answer? I've been on the iphone with tech support because my icloud notes sync between ipad and iphone, but suddenly stopped syncing on my imac (10.8.3) Try to check notes in icloud system prefs and it says the account can not be enabled. Try again in a few moments.

It's been working perfectly from icloud day 1 and suddenly, after 15 years I had to change my apple id password and now life is not perfect.

Any suggestions? I've done all the deleting account and adding again under .mac, .me, and icloud.com.
