Bose soundlink mini cannot update

I tried to update my Blose soundlink mini so I can use bluetooth with it, however, my soundlink mini cannot be detected by the updating software and I wonder what part of the instruction has I done wrong?

I purchased the Soundlink Mini in December 2013, and have also tried to update it with it plugged into AC with the Bose drivers installed. Like others, all three lights blink without the software either not detecting it, or as someone before pointed out, not detecting any new updates. Either way, it works well, but Bose does need something more user friendly to inform buyers that no new update is available. If that's the case...

I had the same problem with my Bose Soundlink Bluetooth Speaker. I was unable to pair a new iPhone after having owned the speaker for two years. I tried to update the firmware, which didn't work. This was explained in an earlier post by GoKce. In short, since no firmware update was needed, the downloaded Bose software didn't recognize the speaker.

The solution I then found came from this Bose troubleshooting link:

I followed the instructions to "clear the pairing list" on the Bose speaker. After that, I was able to pair two iPhones and my macBook.

Can't get mine to work either. I have the Soundlink III and it pairs with everything flawlessly - except my Macbook Pro. It cuts in and out while playing from iTunes, youtube, etc. I have other portable speakers that paired up with my Mac with zero problems, so I don't know why this speaker isn't. I've followed all the directions like everyone else (power is plugged in), and it never detects anything, lights just continually flash. Am I just out of luck getting this to work with my Mac?? That *****.

has anyone figure out how to get the AUX blinking lights working. I downloaded the driver like the installer said, I have a good USB cable, I press the AUX for 10 seconds and got blinking lights and yes... it's plugged in to AC. The software will simply not recognize it and nothing is happening. I do get the cut in/out music with bluetooth and hope the update fixes this issue. Any thoughts?
