Camera and led light not working after IOS 7 update on iphone 5 help please!!

This worked perfectly, thank you! Didn't even have to wait, jsut opened the camera app and it worked. Even got the notification LED blink to work as well. Thanks.

@smileymiley81 however i got the same problems other times . i eventually sent my Iphone 5s to Apple and they replaced it (it's in warranty period). If your Iphone is within warranty period i suggest you to ask for a replacement 😉

I had same problem just like all of you with my iphone 5 ios version 7.0.4. If I go to the new control center. The flashlight icon is greyed out as well. I've tried hard reset, settings reset and finally a full reset and restore and still not works. Please help us find fix on this issue and I believed it's somehow like a software related issue that causes this bug that disable the flash light icon and affecting the back camera as well as the led flash. Please post here if you encounter the same issue and how you fix the issue.

This is really frustrating and I hope APPLE find a solution on this problem. I thought version 7.0.4 is a stable version but it does not work fine for me and causes trouble on my IP5.:(

I try to download "awesome camera" but it didn't work also the other fix that was posted here . No luck on getting my flashlight icon work again as well as my camera on the back portion of IP5.:(

I hope APPLE will fix this issue or bug as soon as possible.

i was going to write the same thing EVERYONE wrote already.

No rear camera, No LED, front camera works fine.

Out of warranty (iPhone5) and certainly not willing to go for a hardware replacement.

had my Iphone 5s replaced (warranty period). Now it's all Ok.....

This worked for me:

Open a text message and add a picture. Choose take a photo. Your camera and flashlight should work after that. I tried everything else and this is the only thing that worked for me.

I am having the same issue, and have tried the above workarounds to no result.

I also visited the Apple store but they did not offer to replace the phone. (The phone is out of warranty.)

I ended up replacing my rear camera and flash unit using a guide from iFixIt. This fixed my problem, and saved me $200 compared to the Apple Store. It works great now.

Apparently it was hardware derived, but its curious that so many people are having this issue after upgrading their operating system.

FIX FOR REAR CAMERA AND FLASHLIGHT!!!

I also had the same flash and rear camera problems as everyone else but I figured it was a software problem.

To fix the flash/flashlight, simply download the flashlight app. The one everyone used before iOS 7. The flash should work immediately.

To fix the rear camera go to Settings > General > Restrictions. Enable restrictions and turn the Camera off, then take the restriction off. Check your camera, it should work immediately.

Hope this answers a lot of questions and saves a bunch of money due to Apple's failures.

I Have now done everything on this post without any luck. I have downloaded Flashlight, no luck. Enable restrictions, put camera off and turn enable restrictions off again, no luck. Reset 3 times, no luck.

If I go to the control centre and put my flaslight on, it goes on, but with barely any light, only a small light goes on without any brightness. as a result, all photos taken by flash is pitch black.

any help on this please!

Same exact problem. None of these other fixes worked at all. I am infuriated with Apple's lack of response for making a key function of their product useless. These iPhones are NOT cheap whatsoever. Apple needs to do something to get this fixed.

I have now after all this effort again installed the Flashlight application and started playing the brightness setting of the led light on the application. And it FIXED by led light!!!

I too have the problem on an iphone 4 No flash No rear cam. ios 7.1.2
I have installed the flashlight app and Awesome Camera app however they DID NOT HELP!I also reset it and restored it - still no glory.
