You should read and notice the more and more upcoming disaffection of long-standing Apple customers like me !!! There are thousends of complains all over the net ... and it´s accelerating boy ! I use iPhone and iOS since 2008 and I was always happy and satisfied about the best mobile OS ever. It was not only about the features … it was also the design with it´s clear, understandable and aesthetic design. Many of the original icons are really "iconic" and the use of iOS was always intuitive = the best = always 100% in any ranking ! Beside the fact that most of the new "features" are already on Android machines = nothing really sensational ! Well, 3D/moving wallpaper … wow … who needs this ? Yea, Android uses like this and not serious Apple user. The new iOS 7 simply has a ugly, cheap "made in China" design and it has by far nothing to do with "design" … this is soft are garbage ! If Apple will not 1.) change it dramatically back to iOS6 design … or 2.) offers a possibility to "switch" between "new" and "classic" design (as Windows does it), it will be the last iPhone for me ! And believe me, there 100 thousand and maybe more users who think the same ! Conclusion : Apple is ejecting old customers ! Very sad !

I feel the same, this "new" design of ios7 is very disappointing, I really regret that I updated my apple products.

if Apple isnt supporting downgrades, at least make it able to use the old design. It's just about a visual setting.

It's not about getting used to, as I used also Symbian Anna on Nokia smartphones back in 2011. The iOS 7 "new design" gives me the feeling I'm using an older Nokia smartphone with Symbian Anna.

For example:

The new layout limits number of apps in folders, only 9. now you need to swipe in the folder if you have more apps. That's not very user friendly nor clear or better. That's back in time when smartphones were limited in memory or resourses. I thought iOS is the best out there.

And the new task bar layout is horrible, swiping all app up.. It's just absolutely less comfortable then the old task bar where you just tap the little X in the corner.

If I wanted to swipe all day to get what I need i just could get myself an android system.

I'm sure ios7 is better, and so on. And some new features are an improvement.

But I'm just simply talking about look and feel.

Its looks outdated and it feels like Symbian Anna.

I want a more user friendly layout like iOS 6.

If apples mission is to force users to just simply to get used to this "so called new layout" then it means that there is no clear reason to stay with apple anymore for the user friendliness and clear layout that stands out of the crowd.

I switched to Apple for this user friendliness, and now I feel disappointed and stuck with iOS 7

I don't think it's only about the "new" design, that is a personal perception that depends on each ones taste, and that can be heavily influenced by trends.

Clogging on non state-of-art models, like the iPhone4 however, is a true issue. It doesn't matter if you like the looks or not if you can't use it because it lags on every keypress.

Well, even a genius makes mistakes once in his life ;-) ... But the iMac3G (lot of diff. colors) was successful. BTW: I have 3 = Tangerine, Bondi Blue and Indigo in my private Apple museum :-)

But seriously ... I asked all iPhone/iPad users (Friends, family, colleagues ...) and the conclusion for me = I´m old fashion :-( All the people in my age (40-60) ... I´m 53 ... think like me. All young people (16-30) like the iO7 and they don´t understand my complains.

So I´m old fashion man and I have to admit : Boy, think modern and accept it ... if you like it or not :-o

But anyway, I will keep the 6 on my iPhone 5 as long as it makes sense.

57 here and I didn't like the UI at first. I changed the background, and that helped alot. I now don't really notice the icons that much having used Android phones in the family for the past 5 years, and still using a Nook Color as an Android tablet as a reader. I did like the iOS 6 UI, and turned off the parallax feature in iOS 7 because it had no use and consumed battery resources.

The reason I decided on an iPhone was for the ecosystem since I had a MacBook Pro and my wife had an iPad. The key for me is that everything just works, and has from the beginning. I don't know where all the problems are coming from, so can't comment on them. But I can get used to just about any UI having used MS DOS, Windows 3.1 --- Windows 7, Linux, OS X, Android and iOS. It just takes getting used to.

I like the look and fell if the new is what I cannot stand is the laggy performance and apples complete arrogance in not informing customers that they cannot revert if they don't like it - before offering the upgrade the same happen in the last mac is upgrade only after installing did I find out I had to buy upgrades for software which no longer worked sorry apple but my contracts up next month and the new sony handset looks very nice

Years ago before upgrading to a new version of Windows my friends in the industry would suggest I wait a full year before upgrading. That was with Windows and frankly the advice was good as Microsoft releases were what we might call "beta" and were buggy and unfinished. I think the same policy should apply to post-Jobs Apple updates. I'd feel sick if Apple ruins the user experience on my iMac and Macbook the way they have on my ios devices.

This is to say I'm going to actually use someone else's FIRST before I chance another upgrade and im the meantime at least replace some of the junk with apps where I can - like th calendar, etc.

All I can say is let this be a lesson to us who are really trying to love our Apples...

Somebody, somewhere, will have a meeting to report sales figures, to some important people. And it's right then, when they have fear and terror in their blood as they realised they have failed to provoke sales, it's at that moment when they wonder, what could we have done to continue the usual apple sales figures, it's at that point when you compare the market share disappearing to Samsung you say to that guy, "THINK OF ME BABY!".

Hope you enjoy the mental knowledge of being a complete failure in the face of straight forward customer feedback.

You deserve this criticism Apple, and more yet, you deserve the sales decline. Take it on the chin.
