problem sending emails
i am having trouble sending emails, none of my devices work. Is there any issue with the server?

I have been looking into this, this morning. I am in the UK and I cant send emails via Apple Mail but I can send via icloud.com?
Apple Support pages on the status shows nothing. Even looked at twitter to see if others have been having the same thing.
I'm in London, not having any problems at all.

And?
Are they?
I'm in Birmingham UK and can't send emails from imac, macbookPro, ipad or iphone. Can receive mail. Was working fine until this morning.
ISP is BT.
Will keep trying!
Who is your email provider?
I am using my icloud account.
I'm also having problems sending via the icloud webserver as the pages become unresponsive before I have enough time to write my email.
Having no problems with the internet in general - just icloud mail. Have just had the message pop up on my ipad 'The connection to the outgoing server "p04-smpt.mail.me.com" failed.
Any suggestions much appreciatedi
Hi
Ive noticed Im having the same problem this morning. I can send emails via iPhone and iCloud Webpage but not from the Mac Mail Application. I can recieve email ok on the Mac Mail application. Im based in Northern Ireland, UK and my Service Provider is BT. Must be a problem at Apple's end?

I can send if I bypass the wifi (BT hub) and send an email via 3G. Still having problems on the icloud web server though so not entirely sure whether this is an icloud problem that BT is having trouble with or whether BT have done something.

You are the second BT user (at least) in this thread, and there are others in other threads. Maybe it is not Apple.
Go to System Preferences>iCloud, switch Mail off, restart your Mac, Go back to System Preferences>iCloud and switch Mail back on.
Hi
Ive just tried that and nothing has changed. I now have the same problem on my iPhone 5. Ive also switched off WiFi and tried to send an email over 3G and yet I still cant send an email. My Mobile Network Provider in Three (UK).

Same here:
when connected via EE 3G ISP, I can send mail via Gmail, BT and iCloud mail accounts;
when connected via BT Business ISP, I can send mail via Gmail and BT, but iCloud fails with the message:
Connections to the server âp04-smtp.mail.me.comâ on the default ports timed out.
Inbound mail is fine in all cases.
Looks like SMTP blocked, but can't say for certain where the fault lies yet, could be iCloud or BT.
For those of you with this problem on BT, are you on the Business or domestic service?
Note added for clarification:
This all applies to Mac OS and iOS mail; using the iCloud web interface always works, so again, that points to SMTP being blocked.

I am in London and have been having precsiely the same problem - cannot send emails from devices but can from icloud. I have noticed this is being reported on a few other sites too but am amazed at the lack of any recognition from apple on any service - especially here!
PS - I am with Virgin Media if that helps.

Hi
Ive just checked my fathers iPad Mini, hes able to send me an email and Ive received it. I cant send an email back as the Send option is greyed out. Seems strange how he can send an email from his ipad Mini but I cant from my iPhone 5 :-S
