i just called.....

after being on the phone very long with AT&T, the dude manually removed all my blackberry services AND manually added my iphone services and submitted them.

he's telling me it may take 1-2 more hours cuz they are backed up.

i asked him about what would have happened if i never called and he couldn't even say for sure.. he seemed to think that MAYBE he was helping things to move more quickly by entering in the data manually... but does this mean i'm now at the back of the queue? did he ust screw up things further? i have no idea. he had no idea....

sheesh.

i hope this gets going before i pass out from exhaustion. been up since 5

Initiated Activitation via iTunes at 6:45 pm Eastern. I am an existing AT&T Customer, replacing a phone with the iPhone, so same phone number. Got the email stating "AT&T is now processing your activiation" at 6:56 pm. As of 9:15 pm Eastern, still getting "Your activation requires additional time to complete" in iTunes. I called AT&T and the guy said his system showed that my activation was complete, wasn't sure why it wasn't working - but to just wait. Nice AT&T, real nice. Everything went so smoothly at the stores; not AT&T has really dropped the ball. It shouldn't take 2.5 hours to activate a phone when I already have AT&T service. Ridiculous. Steve's gonna be furious.

I just got home with my phone, but kinda nervous to activate it now. I called Cingular to see whats going on, the operator said they never heard of this issue. She called activation dept and they told her if their is a problem with you account they it will take longer.... not for sure if i by that or not. Maybe I will just wait till tomorrow, maybe things wont be as crazy.

Mine has been waiting to activate over 1.5hrs now...

The rep @ AT&T (that took 30 minutes of holding) told me that I didn't accept all the terms and conditions that's why my phone isn't activated and gave me the phone number to the contract acceptance / activation line and said he hasn't heard of too many issues of getting it activated there.

I'm on hold (again) so I'll repost the outcome.
