iphone not recognized by itunes.

when I plug in iphoto opens. Itunes is not recognizing the iphone. I have two hard drives, only one of which has itunes 7.3, but that is the itunes I have open. ...ideas?

G5, Mac OS X (10.4.10)

I have been lucky; by using Perferencial Treatment (free) I have been able to delete the corrupted preferences files on my G-4. Then a try at synching and walla! It lists the iPhone in the section of ITunes! Things worked after I DELETED THE CORRUPTED PERFERENCE FILES FOUND BY THE ABOVE PROGRAM...

It worked just fine; items synched as they should be...thanks to members of this group who suggested this!

open up applications double click and open Image capture, in menu bar under image capture open up preferences, under General, Camera "When a camera is connected, open: (make sure to choose - No Application) this will stop Iphoto from opening up you will however need to import manually if you choose this option with iphoto. Sorry can't help with I-tunes recognizing other then reseeding the sim card.
