Music stops playing while browsing web

I've now seen this issue happen twice on my iPhone this morning - I'm listening to an album (Daughtry) and browsing the web (the Motley Fool) at the same time. Suddenly, the iPhone stops playing the music after about 10 minutes - in the middle of a song. I'm not sure if there is a setting somewhere that I'm unaware of, or if this is a bug. Both times seem to have close to when I single tapped on the screen while in Safari - but did not hit a link. Anyone else see anything similar?

Best Regards,

Jeff

I went to a basball game yesterday and filled my 8GB phone with pics, then on the train back was listening to a 1:08:00 techno mix then tried flipping through Safari and got the iPod to quit often. I was also able to get iPod to quit during coverflow and even just flipping through the long legal page and then used a regular song from moulin rouge and it still managed to quit. So I thought it was a problem with lack of space. I sunk my phone, took the pics off, and took off a bunch of unwanted songs. Tried again, and was able to get it to quit again. Tried a long song and a short song, and was able to get the iPod to quit both times, and this is with 1+GB available. Lastly, during the day today, I started getting the phone app to quit when music wasn't playing. I restarted (held down both sleep and home for 10 sec) and got the apple logo boot up, and after that, it's been running smoothly. I was almost ready to take it in because I was able to get it to quit on demand basically. It's good to know I'm not the only one.

Esentially, the same thing is happening to me. itunes quits while surfing with Safari or using maps via WI-FI. I have the 8 gig model. I have updated to the newest version of itunes but I have not yet synced my iphone since the update. Since I haven't synced the iPhone since the update of iTunes, why would the lastest update of iTunes be a causal factor?

I hope this gets resolves SOON.

I'm definitely having the same problem but it seems to be getting worse. Happens to me when checking email or SMS's. I even experienced this when only listening to music but it could be that the iPhone was automatically checking for email or text messages. When I go back into the iPod, I'm never in the album I was listening to.

Today is probably the first time I'm listening to the ipod and then going into Safari. I am using EDGE right now. The music stops and in the last case I noticed this occurred when I was scrolling a screen and the screen was in process of being rendered to display the screen as I scrolled.

I tried to repeat this but could not. I went to a new web page and there was no problem. However, earlier it was pretty constant. I lost the music playing within a minute or 2 after starting browsing.

I think that's sensible, Dan.

While it should work properly, the truth is the iPhone is better at one task at a time. I don't use it for playing music because a Nano does it better (in a lot of ways) but I do use it to play movies (which it does very well). To me when I'm waiting this is a better use of it than to try and surf and listen to music as well.

Plus the iPhone isn't good at being jostled and hates sweat/water -- not a workout solution the way the Nano is. All in all I don't see it as being a Nano replacement but more of a video iPod replacement.

I have have been having the same problem (music cutting out while using using safari--both on Edge and wifi). I took the first iPhone I bought back to Apple for a replacement and the replacement has the exact same problem. Moreover, when I met with Mac's "geniuses" (gimmie a break) they essentially said "well, that's just part of owning and iPhone," as if such a bug should be acceptable. I cannot believe that Apple has allowed iPhones to ship with this problem. Extremely disappointing. So much for Apple's quality control/quality assurance. I wish I had simply returned it instead of getting a replacement. At this point, I wish I had purchased a different phone from a different company.

8 GB iphone.

my music keeps crashing regardless of whether i'm using another application or not. i set my music to shuffle, press the top button and put it in my pocket. i'm lucky if it gets through 2 songs before crashing. this didn't always happen, but it's gotten more frequent every day. i first noticed this issue with videos, although most of the time i can watch a whole show with no problem.

i'm very disappointed to see this issue is five months old and still unresolved.
