Where can I download Safari 2.0.4?

Question: Where can I download the prior version of Safari for Mac (2.0.4 or 2.x)?

Background: I subscribe to a service (MLB.TV) that on my Mac only works in Safari 2.0.4.

I replaced it with the new public beta (3.x), but the site I want to use for watching mlb.tv won't work under this new version.

I should not have deleted the old version of Safari, but I figured I could always re-install. Now that I WANT to, I cannot find the download!

[The Apple Download site is useless: when I type "safari" in the downloads search it says "An error occurred. Please try your search again later."]

When you get to the downloads area type Safari in the search window, a drop down menu selection will appear, choose Safari Troubleshooting and when that page opens you will see the Safari 2.0.4 on the right side of the screen under Software Update. Hope this helps.

I will definitely explore the phone support option - I didn't know about that!

Apple Care provides 3 years of telephone support. Otherwise, the standard warranty that comes with each computer offers 1 year parts and labor for defective equipment, plus free telephone support for the first 90 days. Beyond 90 days to the one year mark no charge for telephone support if it's a hardware issue. Software issues trigger the $$$ meter.

Personally, I think Apple Care is very good insurance for notebooks. The mobility factor increases wear & tear, which can lead to costly repair bills if the warranty period has lapsed.

Hi Luis

As long as you successfully uninstalled Safari 3 Beta, you can reinstall Safari 2.0.4 quite easily. See this post for instructions. If there were problems with the uninstall, then reinstalling 2.0.4 would require a reinstall of the operating system, as core OS files outside of Safari are affected by the Beta install/uninstall.
