Recharging best practices?

Anyone have some best practices for iPhone recharging? For example, is it a bad thing to leave the iPhone in the cradle at night if it's fully charged?

Not bad to leave the iPhone plugged in.

All of you need to lay off the Apple Store employees, it is unecessary. They work incredibly hard to provide you with an outlet to come to an actual person and not talk to some idiot overseas who doesnt speak english. So thank you lucky stars you have the ability to do that, furthermore for all of you PC users, if you hate Apple so much, then dont buy an iPhone. Just relax, everyone is so angry all the time. It's not worth it, just return the freakin phone if you dont like it.

I would probably speak with another apple rep and let them know that this has been a consistent problem. The only times I have issues with my battery life is on days where I'm at rehearsal in the morning and then at work until 8 and constantly checking emails, surfing the internet with it. And then, it's only "died" on me once - at 9:30 at night.

16 hours isn't an issue for me, considering all that the phone does - and that it doubles as my ipod. When I'm at home, it's always in the cradle, or hooked up to speakers that also charge the phone. I just leave it plugged in whenever possible; it's not really an inconvenience.

When I first purchased my iPhone I screamed about my poor battery life coming from a blackberry that would run for days ... someone suggested to go to "settings" and go to "mail" and turn my "auto-check" to MANUAL and I have not had a problem with my battery since ... it would be nice to have the battery check like blackberry every minute but, I have adjusted and can survive each day with maybe a quick boost during dinner and leave it charging through every night ... Shyde

when i first had my iPhone since it came out, i thought the battery was pretty good even after listening to an hour of music and going of safari for multiple hours and sending thousands of texts-itd only go down about half a bar

but as all of the updates synched to my cell, the second i take it off of the charger it goes down a bit, and by the end of the night the bar is down to red nd its telling me '10% BATTERY LEFT' which never happened before.

i think it goes down so fast because of all of the content on it is causing the phone to lose battery. also why does it get so hoT?

Your problem is the fact that you recharged it so often. With every charge on any electronic product with rechargeable batteries, the overall battery life is reduced. If you charge it every time you get the chance, it is damaging the iPhone. You should only recharge when the iPhone gets to 20-5% of battery life. It is probably too late for your iPhone now but for your next Phone or mp3 player you should keep that in mind

Sorry,

P.S. Don't Dis Apple

That simply isn't true with modern battery technology.

You can recharge your iPhone whenever you like without adverse effect on the battery life.
