BMW Bluetooth problems

For some reason, I'm having problems with my bluetooth connection to my car. I have a 2007 535i with Nav and when I pair the phone, everything works fine. Paired quickly. My numbers are available and I can see the signal strength and so on. However, when I make a call... the audio drops for about 2-3 seconds and then resumes. The caller can hear me but it is as if they are muted and then unmuted. Is anyone having this problem? Should I take my phone back to the store???

Keep in mind that bluetooth car support is not fully supported yet. Some work well, others do not.

I think for now, Apple is limiting the bluetooth support to headset/ear devices. Further compatibility may be available in future updates (hopefully soon).

I have an Acura and have had no problems with the car's bluetooth, do you think it is possibly a function of the BMW radio, prehaps it has a slow volume function that allows the volume to come up slowly so it does not blast out the driver when they turn on the car. This might be causing an issue with the iphone.

2004 Acura TL, whenever I get a call it drops the bluetooth connection until I grab the phone then all of a sudden it connects, sometimes when I make a call as soon as it starts dialing it drops the connection but its still ringing on the phone

2007 328xi works flawlessly.

the one time I saw my phone missing, it had no service, picked right back up when service resumed.

My 2006 330cic drops once the call is made and resumes after the call is finished. Seems like a software thing, hopefully it will be resolved in the next update.

Same problem in my 2006 M5. It seems to cut out in the beginning of the call. The recipient of the call can hear me, but I can't hear them. Most of my calls go like this:

Me: Hello?
Me again: Hellooo!
Once more: HELLO!!!
Call recipient: Dude, what the **** are you yelling about, I can hear you already!

It also seems to get noticeably worse when the phone is in my pocket, or maybe I am just imagining that. This needs to be addressed.

I noticed this happening sometimes in my X3 and Z4. Depends on signall strength too. Try placing in another location and give a try.

Can you check with another BT phone ? If not call BMW service. As per BMW, iPhone works. Another place to check is www.bimmerfest.com/forums/

I have similar problems with a 2006 M45. I never have my iPhone's wifi on. This is an iPhone problem, not the car's fault, because I used a motorola razr extensively and flawlessly in this vehicle for over two years. The iPhone's bluetooth is so poor I've now completely abandoned using it in my car. I just take my phone out of my pocket and answer calls manually like all the other poor saps on the road. Apple has effectively increased the dangers of driving.
