BMW Bluetooth problems

I have a 2006 325i, no nav. I had the same exact problem, and turning off the wifi did solve it. I am surprised the M45 user was unable to get results by turning off the wifi. The two technologies run on the same frequency, so they interfere with each other when both are active. I agree that it is a problem with the device, not the cars. An update should be released that allows for the option of automatic wifi disengage whenever a bluetooth device is paired. I suggest everyone having this problem documents it through the feedback link at the top of the forum, and hopefully Apple will solve the problem. Until then, I get to turn off wifi every single time I get in my car, and then have to turn it on when I get back out. Please take care of this Apple!

I've got an '07 530, and the bluetooth connection is just about unusable. The caller continuously drops out. My wife's razor is fine, and my treo 700w worked perfectly before the iPhone. I've deleted the pairing a couple of times and that seems to improve it for a bit, then it gets worse again.

I hate bleeding edge!

FWIW, my Audi S4 had problems with 1.0 as it kept connecting and disconnecting the Bluetooth connection frequently every few minutes. This problem appears to have been fixed with 1.0.1 as I've had absolutely no issues since the upgrade.

Same issue for me on my 2006 330i non-navi. I've had to stop using bluetooth, which is really tough after being accustomed to using it for over a year now with my old BB Pearl. Apple needs to do something. Obviously it's iPhone related since virtually every other cell phone works just fine. BMW's statement is a little misleading as well since not "all" BMW models seem to be compatible. This was one of the many reasons I bought the phone to begin with, and I've even returned a phone already and gotten a replacement due to what I thought was a bad Bluetooth unit, only to find out my new phone is just as bad.

BMW makes a statement about the iPhone and using it in their vehicles equipped with Bluetooth. Check it out at their site. They say the iPhone and BMW are completely compatible.

I have a BMW and after an initial bit of funky pairing nonsense, have had no problem.

I have WiFi ON on my iPhone while I'm in my BMW and my iPhone and Bluetooth through the car work just fine. I have no problems at all with it.

I was told initially something about this WiFi bit being a problem but then at the Apple Genius Bar, they said that was nonsense and that it would definitely not be a cause for anything like you have described.

But anyway, just an FYI - I am not experiencing this problem at all and never have turned WiFi off.

My wife has the same problem in her 2007 X3. It is really annoying. This is a serious issue, because I consider it a safety issue. My wife loves to talk and drive, and the bluetooth was making her a MUCH safer driver while talking. She has had the car a year and had a Blackberry 8100 Pearl, and it worked great. Now with our iPhones, it's unusable.

I've got an '06 BMW 330, and have been having exactly the same problems as described in all these other posts: the bluetooth connection is just about unusable. The caller continuously drops out. They seem to be able to hear me ok, but not best sound quality. My friend (BMW sales person) has a razor that pairs with my car and works fine, and my treo 650 worked perfectly before the iPhone. I will try turning off WiFi, but that is just not an acceptible solution.

Apple, PLEASE fix this!! I didn't pay all that money for the voice system in my BMW, and THEN for an iPhone, to not be able to use them.

Otherwise, I simply love my iPhone.

I have a 2007 BMW 530I & I can't get the Iphone to sinc with the car at all. The dealer & BMW have both given me little help, just saying that there must have been an upgrade with the Iphone and BMW will work on the issue. Has anyone else had this problem? I bought the phone just last week, Aug. 24th.

I have an 07 335 with Nav, and once I turned off Wi-Fi, my delayed and grabled audio on BT went away.

Same here. I turned off WiFi and my 2006 330i and iPhone work perfectly together.

I have exactly the same issues with my 2007 325i.

Same problem, 2006 BMW M5. It seemed to work fine until I upgraded to the new software w/iTunes wi-fi. I may downgrade and see if it fixes the issue.

Not so sure its the iphone. My 2007 X5 has the issues mentioned in this post. Drop outs making the phone unusable. The same iphone in my wifes 2007 330i works perfectly. X5 has nav system, 330i does not. I believe BMW may have made some changes mid year.

2007 328i works great....try re pairing the phone to the car. maybe it just needs to be refreshed or something
