iPhone and Water

i have had cell phones for more then 10 years now. some of them good and some of them better with water issues.
Nokia has (use to have) a model that was waterproof and floated.
how tolerant is the iPhone to water? i live in south Florida and sometimes just standing outside you get so wet (either sweat or rain) so talking on the phone can be a wet experience for the poor phone.
anybody had a "wet" experience wth the iphone?
thanks

Funny I was thinking about posting a topic about this . We were in Honduras for 9 days a few weeks ago, went hiking through rain forests and wend to see waterfalls. THe phone did get a little wet from time to time but it works just fine. I even got a call while hiking through the jungle ( no S#@t I swear...)..It scared the crap out of my guide..lol. Although when I showed him the features of the phone, he was amazed. I dont think he makes much more than $599 a month, and here I am carrying this phone that costs as much. Email did not work but I was able to text back and forth with my sister who kept me updated on Hurricane Dean that was going by at the time..I guess that would have been a good water test.

Charlie,

Go to a outdoor sports store that sells kayaks and canoes -- there are terrific heavyduty waterproof bags designed specifically for cell phones. I use just such a bag for my iPhone when I'm paddling or on my motorcycle and I think there might be rain.

A company called Otterbox <http://www.otterbox.com/> makes waterproof hardcases for protecting electronics while camping/paddling. I use a few of them myself for various items. Though, for cycling, a hardcase might be difficult to stow on a bike.

I took my iPhone to Universal Studios and rode the Jurassic Park water ride with it. I used a snack-size ziplock bag (half the size of a sandwich bag) and was able to take pretty decent pictures through the bag. Once the bag started getting really wet and slippery I quit snapping photos and put the iPhone safely in my pocket.

You are a BRAVE soul.

1- For taking the iPhone near SOOOO much water.
2- For getting on the Ride.

OtterBox for iPhone will NOT be water-proof.
