Hello. I have some of the problems mentioned here with a MC-130 Everio camcorder. My problems begin with the thumbnails, as it takes a long and I get a crash after a while. Maybe I should try only with the first ones, as it was the only time I get something.

In my attempts to import the files, I tried to move some to my mac disc, but iMovie didn't import them.

After reading the thread, my idea is trying to import a few files each time and erase them from the camcorder.

To avoid crashes, maybe it would be possible to extract the files from the camcorder and leave a few, to import them quicker, and then moving the next batch to the camdcorder.

Anyway, if it was tedious work with hd camcorders and iMovie HD, iMovie 08 is a progress but still has to improve a lot.

Has anybody had experience importing the .MOD files from the SD card? A friend wants to shoot footage on his Everio 555 to the SD card, and give me just the card for me to edit the video on my iMac in iMovie 08. I've scanned through the posts here, and don't find a mention of somebody not having the camcorder (and hard drive) in their possession, but trying to import clips into iMovie 08 via a USB-connected media card reader.

Thanks for your help!
