Replacement for Appleworks "Draw" Program?

I am having some problems with copying. I have a circle with a black hairline on the outside. When I copy and past it to Pages, it is a white circle, with nothing around the outside. If I select the line in the tool bar, it puts the line in the rectangle that the circle is in, not around the circle. If you use a predrawn shape the circle is outlined, but I cannot do that with the one I paste from appleworks draw. Any ideas?

If I click shadow, it shows the circle, but if not, it looks like it is not there.

That page exists, and the page listing the updaters for the various language versions of AppleWorks can be reached from that page, BUT the Download button for the US English version is redirected back to the support page Michael linked above. One (more) Infinite Loop, should you decide to keep clicking.

Yes, Barbara, I'm aware of the EOL status and I do understand the distinction. Given the amount of support provided lately, however, I don't think it's really that much of a difference.

Oh yes, that's true enough. My point was just that it's understandable if people freak when it becomes official. (I myself wonder about the future of this forum, to tell you the truth. They sure could use the screen space back)

You're right, Barry ... I guess I'd just given them (undeservedly, as it happens) the benefit of the doubt, assuming that the continued presence of a link would mean what the inquiring mind would naturally take it to mean.

Strangely, however, the 6.2.9 updater continues to live in .Mac's Software folder, at least for now.

At least it no longer takes you to the iWork '08 page. You still can download the 6.2.9 updater from MacUpdate or VersionTracker as well as the Apple software folder on your iDisk if you have .Mac.

Thanks all. This makes very interesting reading on a topic that seems near and dear to a lot of hearts--Appleworks. I am basically a novice at AW even though I have worked with it for 5 yrs now on my eMac, and have a lot of fun with it. I enjoy dragging a jpeg from iPhoto into AW and then adjusting it, adding text, etc. which I then use for various purposes, one being headers on Quicktime slide shows. Long Live AW.
