Okay, I'm new here so I probably missed it but after upgrading to ITunes 7.4 from 7.3 I get an error message saying that ITunes did not install correctly and that my ITunes CD folder is missing so I can't burn or import CD's anymore. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks
Here is the CD Configuration folder, with the Files you need Just Unzip it and place the CD Configuration Folder into Your C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes Directory
I've copied this folder on my installation but does'nt work !
I've Vista 64 Ultimate Italian and "c:\program files" is "c:\programmi (86)"
Maybe this a problem ??
Downloading your config file and copying it into the c/programs/itunes directory solved the issue. Now the Itunes 4.1.2 version opens right away and the CD driver is found so that CDs can be burned. Thank you ever so much.
Have a 64 bit Vista ultimate on an HP Pavillion laptop.
Issues with Itunes, version 7.4. Displays message saying "Not loaded properly" but plays tunes anyway. Also could not recognize CD/DVD built in.
Solution:
Came from messages on this board.......
Toonz Sept 6: downloaded the gear driver for 64 bit AMD and 64 bit Intel
Stahlhammer Sept 11: downloaded zip file for CD config and copied it to the C drive programs/itunes directory.
Now itunes 7.4 is recognized by the HP Vista Ultimate OS and Itunes recognizes the CD driver and a playlist can be burned. It works on CD players.
Thank you, gentlemen, for doing things Apple/Microsoft should have done themselves.
I installed the gears driver and it fix the problem like that. i agree they really need to support 64-bit os, actually every software manufacturer needs to, come on now they didn't design this os for nothing.
I'm a bit puzzled, I've tried all the advice given above, installed 7.3.2 and backed up the "CD Configuration" folder. Un-installed it. Installed 7.4.1 and installed the GEAR 64-bit drivers, and copied the "CD Configuration" folder back into the iTunes directory.
But for me it doesn't work 😟
When I check the CD/DVD diagnostics it shows that the CD Driver is not available!
Any ideas?
my similar problem has been solved, but only one more question is that why "Apple Mobile Device Support 1.1.1.1" did not turn out on the help(H)-about iTunes(A)?how to solve this problem?
I agree with you. Most PCs built nowadays are natively 64 bit. Most do not come with a 64 bit OS however they are still 64 bit. Look at AMD processors. Almost all of their processors are 64 bit capable.
I did have Daemon Tools installed - but I uninstalled it a couple of weeks ago as I didn't need it anymore... hmm I wonder if its left something on my system that is interfering with iTunes.
I'll have a Google and see if I can find some way of checking if there are any "bits" of it left on my system. I might try completely uninstalling the GEAR drivers again - and manually checking they they are GONE this weekend.
