I went for the Incase Neoprene Sleeve for my 160Gb:

My review will be in there in the next couple of days hopefully. In summary, it's a loverly snug fit, open click wheel area, but clear plastic covering the screen. Seems to be built very well, good stitching etc.... Obviously over time will be the test, as I use it everyday cycling in and out of work. But for now, it's a cracking case

I picked one of these up at the Apple Store for my 80gb Classic (I bought the 30gb version which fits perfectly). I think it's great, it's a stylish hard case, has rubber edges that protected it when I dropped it (twice), and it doesn't have anything covering the scroll wheel - I originally tried a silicone case which also covered the scroll wheel but the iPod wouldn't detect my thumb movements at all. The belt clip has a quick release so you can remove the iPod and leave the belt clip on your belt, and you can easily snap the iPod back into it. The back side of the case is also clear if you like looking at the shiny back and your engraving (if you had that done.

I found that cases can add bulk to an iPod making it inconvienent to carry around. It was hard for me to take it out everytime I docked it in my iHome (which was frequently). So I resorted to skins because they add protection without the bulk. I just ordered mines from GelaSkins. The cases are crazy nice and they add a level of uniqueness to your iPod instead of having that boring old case every other iPod owner has. The only downside to it is that it doesn't cover the sides... junk

I'll have to put my two cents in against CoverCase -- they are selling 5G cases as compatible with Classics -- this may work with soft cases but not the hard, molded cases -- I ordered a Griffin Centerstage for my 160gb Classic; they charged me for that model but sent me the cheaper Reflect model for a 5G -- not only the wrong item but it wouldn't fit my iPod anyway. So after paying $9.95 for the original shipping, their best offer is to return it at my expense for an exchange for the item I originally ordered -- which, according to Griffin Technology is not guaranteed compatible with the Classic.

CoverCase is a re-seller -- do yourself a favor and order from the original mfgr or reputable store.

I also bought the invisible shield for my 80 GIg Classic. It worked great for a few weeks, then it looked like the iPod had rainbow specks on the screen. I took the iPod back to the Apple Store and they swapped it out for a new one. I took the invisible shield off so I could send it back for a replacement. The rainbow specks disappeared! It wasn't the iPod at all, it was the shield.

I swapped the iPod anyway because the click wheel was a little loose. However, I put a Toughskin by Speck on the new one rather than the invisible shield. It doesn't look as nice, but it protects better.

I'm finding it hard to get a case for my 80GB Classic. For the short term I've got a waterproof case made by a company here in UK that makes travel products. I did see a case in the shop at Dublin Airport last time DH and I flew to England. It had a clip on it for attaching a lanyard to which I would like. DH and I are flying from Dublin in February so am hoping they'll have cases. The neoprene one on Apple's website doesn't have lanyard attachment. I don't want silicone as I've heard that can stratch ipods.
