iPod sync generates Error -54

Hi

lately my iPod quits my synchronization with an Error -54.
The sync is completely but it worries me a bit.

The exact error message:
Attempting to copy to the disk "<iPod name>" failed. An unknown error occurred (-54).

As i told before, all changes i have done in the Lib are completely done. On the iPod is only half of the capacity is used until now.

Does anybody know what causes the error?

Yes, I got this 'ipod cannot be synced unknown error (-39)' message and yours is the only post I could find that relates to it!

Anyway I found the solution, and thankfully it doesn't involve any obscure apple scripts...

The problem is caused by dodgy photos in iphoto, I think they were images from my SonyEric phone. Anyway, to see if that IS the problem, just uncheck the sync photos option in iTunes, in my case it then synced fine, and thus I narrowed down the problem.

Then I dragged the last import of photos out of iphoto to a folder on the desktop. Deleted them, and deleted them, from the trash. Then reimport the images from the desktop. Ee-sync, and oilah everything works fine.

I noticed that I get this error every time when i do the following:

I have a Mac Mini and a MBP. My iTunes library file is on my MBP but the actual music is on a shared volume located on the mini.
If I mounted my mini's shared volume over Wi-Fi, lunched iTunes, then plugged in the ethernet cable and then tried to sync my iPod, it seems like I will get this error. Remounting the volume seems to solve the problem.
