Ipod Classic syncing issues - Ejecting

Hi Everyone.

I've just bought the new ipod classic and I'm having problems connecting the device to my pc. I've used ipods before with this pc with no problem.

Each time I connect the ipod will automatically eject itself within a few seconds. It will not show up in itunes at all. I have fully charged the ipod but this did not work.

Any ideas? I've noticed that quite a few people on this forum are having similar problems.

Thanks

Hi! I have had my Classic 160GB ipod since Christmas. It worked fine with my computer and itunes for a while, but now it ejects continually. I spent yesterday afternoon and evening reading from this forum, Microsoft's website, Gateway's website, etc., to no avail. I read in this forum where someone said he just moved the USB cable and his ipod ejected. I have handled my ipod while connected several times and it ejected. So, I started thinking that it was the cable. I recently purchased a Griffin car recharger which has a USB cable included. I tried that one and my ipod hasn't ejected since (the Griffin cable fits tighter in the USB port and is harder to pull out). I have my ipod connected right now and it is still working perfectly. I called Apple's support number last night and told them about this. They offered me a new cable, but I told them the Griffin is working perfectly. I would think that Griffin USB cables would be available at Best Buy, etc., at a fairly cheap price. It worked for me!

switching usb cables might have fixed your problem, but i've gone through 5 diff usb cables on 10 diff devices (PC, xBox, MAC OS X). mine connects only if you wiggle the cable, then leave it untouched once connected.

i understand that getting a thicker cable or a thicker plug (like the Griffin one) will work, but that wont help my ipod connect to my dock. i think the problem all of us in this thread are having is a short or problem with the actual connector on the bottom of the ipod.

im still looking for an answer, APPLE, thanks alot for your help...
