Iphone case or no iphone case, that is the question?

For those who have used cases and have not used them for there iphone, is it better to use one, or not? I have read in many places of users getting scratches coming from cases. So what is the overal opinion of putting a case on a iphone, and while im here, has anyone used those screen protectors that apple has?

I prefer the look of the phone without a case but holding the phone is much easier with one. I'm using an iSkin Revo and like all other such case designs crap can get inside it and scratch the phone...I have a minute scratch on the bezel already and this is with cleaning the inside of the case before putting on and once since..I've had it a month.

I liked the clearcase ($19.99 at Apple Store) but don't think this would offer much protection on a drop whereas a ruberrized/silicone case at least has a smidgen of shock protection.

I'm using a Crystal film because I'm paranoid but I really prefer the feel of the naked screen and I think the film shows up smudges more than the screen (moire patterns with fingermarks :-/)

I am caseless (for arguments sake). I tried the invisibleSHIELD but over time I saw that dust/pocket lint was migrating between it and the glass and being a little OCD I could not deal with that. So that went. I tried the casemate leather case but found that the part that dips right below where your ear goes was too close to that receiver so it made it tough to hear. I would push it up and out each time and then figured why bother. Since they I have moved to the DLO hip case since it makes it easier to carry around in general and really easy to carry when exercising which was the bigger plus.

The down side is that when your hands are sweaty this phone is a pain to hold. It is just so slippery.

Oh, no glass scratches at all. The metal ring around the screen has some scratches as does then brushed metal. Since it is a phone I don't really care though.

I to have the rubber Icase. I have a couple of scratches on the chrome. But I find if you keep taking on and off that is when you get more scratches. I find that the rubber protector is a safe way if you are one to drop your phone all the time. Which I haven't with this phone. I am very careful as this phone is not replaced if you should break it. I also have the screen protector which I love.

hi, glock12. I too have the iSkin Revo, actually have several just to change the colors when i'm in the mood. I like this case the best (i've tried several). I don't care for a holster but I may purchase the holster that they are selling to go with it just for the "stand" feature it has-easier to watch the movies. I must agree that the only thing i'm not fond of is that the piece that covers the dock port is not attached. I still have mine but it has gotten lost (then found) a couple of times.

You mention the Otterbox case. I have been keeping a close eye on their website and even signed up for the notification of when they go on sale. I may end up buying that one too because it appears that all port covers are attached. It looks cool too.

Have you or anyone else heard anything about when they should be coming out with it?

i use a case. the couple of time i didn't have my iphone in it's case i dropped it & scratched the chrome. i also use the invisibleSHIELD to protect my screen.

the question i have is why would you not do everything you could to protect you iphone. i know 3 people the own "lamborghinis" & they would never park them on the street at night instead of their climat controled garage. get my point?

I have owned and carried PDA's and phones for many, many years, and I have tried both cases that are on the device and cases that only store the device.
For the iPhone, I did not want anything to detract from the great looks of the device. Nothing to cover it up.
I got an inCase Folio case. Leather and nylon. It is a horizontal belt case with a very secure, very versatile belt clip. It has nice suede interior, very soft. I get to use the iPhone without any additional bulk, and it is protected for carrying it around.

I did go ahead and get the Crystal Film screen protector. I must say that it was very easy to apply, and it is almost impossible to tell that it is there at all.

i just happen to love shield zones products.... they guarantee lifetime of your product against any scratches... they have a fun little clip showing them scratching an ipod with a key.... its a product that i believe was invented to protect helecopter blades.... the only thing is when your going to put it on... make sure that you keep your area as lint and dust free as possible.... if something does get underneath you have a short time period to remove the shield and the dust.... but may actually introduce more just from static... im used to applying these things so its not a problem for me... but now that its on... i can toss it in my purse.. my pocket,,, have my keys brush up aginst it .. whatever.... and never have to worry about one silly scratch... i dont allways use my incase because as someone said because its rubber it doesn slide in the back pocket very easily.... the film has a self repairing quality... a scratch may show up for a minute....but then its gone.... for me its a small investment to keep a scratch free clear screen.... and it does not peel off... infact im not sur how ill ever get it off??? not that i want to... i have one on my 5th gen ipod, and my mac book pro....
