iPhone U-Connect and Chrysler's MyGig radio

I have a new Chrysler vehicle with the MyGig radio in it.. Every iPhone I have tried to connect to the U-Connect feature has a strange quirk.. it pairs just fine it will even voice dial and whatnot but as soon as the phone starts to ring who you are calling the U-Connect and the iPhone disconnect.. any ideas?

Please Apple Fix this issue. Between the $400 phone and the $1800 radio I am not a happy camper right now.

I’m having issues with applying the ntg4_9.561 patch to mygig. After burning the cd and going through the update prompts within mygig, the system runs into an error (serious error 2202), after installing approximately 50-60% of the patch. It appears that its getting stuck on a security element.

The system is in total lockdown mode and keeps cycling (hits the error, then restarts in update software mode, hits the same error…over and over) I’m unable to eject the disk or turn the power off. I’ve tried to pull the fuse and disconnect the cars battery – yet the **** system won’t reboot or allow me to restart. Any advise would be greatly appreciated!

FYI this is a mygig system in a 2008 Jeep Cherokee.

My Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep dealer told me they have no idea how to update the mygig manually when I asked for instructions. I then called up U-Connect and they said they had no idea where this update came from either. Can the original poster of the update either give more specific instructions or the source (phone number / email address) of the designer of the update. Thanks a ton in advance!

I posted the update from user kthrash onto my new '08 Jeep Liberty. I was skeptical at first being that it isn't on any official jeep or chrysler sites, but it works like a charm. Total update time took around 7-10 minutes. The menus are definitely snappier after the update (even if you aren't an iPhone user I would recommend the update).

I burned the files to a TDK music CD-R at 4X speed on my Powerbook G4. I named the CD "NTG4_9.561", and put the three files/folders from the unzipped download onto the CD. Total size of the data on the CD was around 575 MB

The update will go through two stages, a first stage that has 2 installation progress bars, and it does pause for 10-20 seconds from time to time. The other stage of the update has the look and feel of the mygig screens, and takes only a minute or so to progress through. Afterwards the system reboots, and it took a while for the CD to eject after I pressed the button (10-20 seconds), but eventually it came out.

iPhone works flawlessly now, shows name/phone number info, battery life left, etc... It's a really sharp system. Thanks kthrash, it was a huge help.

No – still having the same issue. I took my car to the dealership, they were pretty p*issed off, asking the same questions “where did you get this patch” , “this is an unauthorized update” “ Chrysler would never released this patch to the public” etc. They were unable to eject the disk or power cycle the unit. I’m not sure what to do. My recommendation is DON’T use this patch on a 2008 Cherokee. I haven’t had music, etc for weeks. A 2k unit is worthless if you can’t turn it on.

i am a chrysler jeep dealer. i got stuck on one of the jeeps i was updating and i called up, the disk must have a finger print on it or smudged. you need to disconnect the radio or the battery. i believe if you leave door open long enough it should shut radio off. it will go into emergency mode when it comes on and the disc should come out. good luck
i have updated about 10 cars so far.
