iPod Touch TV Out???

I got an iPod touch 8 gig today. I have an apple universal dock & apple a/v cable. On my ipod it says tv out. Unlike my previous ipod there is no option of tv out on/ off/ ask....So, when I try to watch it on my tv all I can hear is audio...cant see any video. Did apple forget something here??? I also just tried my apple a/v cable and still no video....Help....

I purchased the 16Gb Touch 3 weeks ago. I assumed at first my old cable would work. Then I assumed the 30 pin cable would work. Then I found out that all my old cables, including the one out the back of my pioneer avic-d3 "ipod ready" car stereo/ navigation system to my glove box, will not work. I went to Best Buy today to explain the technology to them, and ask for a cable that would indeed work. They don't have one. The apple store employees I then spoke to also needed some education on the concept, and they sold me the 30pin component video cable. It works fine, but of the 4 TVs and my car stereo, none of them have an open component video in, which means I need to go exchange for the composite cable or give up and take the Touch back and wait for something else that can work.

I have just visited my Apple store at Bluewater, I thought I might buy a composite video cable to connect to my TV. However several sales assistants were 100% certain that the touch does not have video out and I would be wasting my time. The dock and the cable both state Touch on the box but I was told this would be audio only. This seems to conflict with some opinions here.
If they are wrong and it does work can someone explain how the o/p is set to PAL or NTSC and does the screen on the Touch turn off when the cable is connected?
Thanks.
