Ignore certain callers automatically

Does anyone now if it's possible to set up a ring profile so if certain contacts call then the phone will ring, but if anyone else calls the phone will send the caller to directly to voicemail?

I've had a few phones with this capability and it's quite nice when you're trying to sleep and don't want the phone ringing anytime someone calls, but you do want it to ring if a family member calls.

It's not a bad idea, but I see two issues with it:

1) Wrong numbers aren't in my contact list (obviously) so I won't be able to assign them ringtones.

2) Let's say I want it to be silent for everyone except 1 number between the hours of midnight to 8 am. I'll have to set everyone to silent except that one person and I'll have to do it one by one. Then, when I want the phone to ring for everyone, I'll have to switch it back, one by one.

Are there different ring profiles where I can switch between setups like this all at once? That would get the job done.

This solution works only for those contacts whose numbers are programmed into your phone. At rougeamoeba you can make your own ringtones. Use QuickTime or any other sound editing program to record an empty 30-second sound file. Their directions are clear. This will create a "silent" ring on your phone that you can assign to whomever you choose. I assign it to bill collectors myself.
Good luck.
