itunes can't connect to store - error 11333 after update to 7.4.2.4 for win

I downloaded 7.4.2.4 for windows today and afterwards couldn't access the store at all, or my account, or check for tv shows to download for my multi-pass i purchased. what's up? i did all the troubleshooting and everything appeared fine - my connection was fine, it wasn't my firewall, computer date/time fine, the itunes network diagnostic said everything was fine. i wound up deleting all the itunes stuff (as described on the itunes for windows trouble installing page) and downloading an old version, 7.3.2.6, from oldapps.com/itunes.htm and now i can access the store like before, although i lost my library file and playlists and had to add everything back in.

So I've spent about 2 hours trying to fix this - are others having this problem? It seems like there are soo many problems popping up on this discussion board. I'm definitely not going to update itunes in the future without checking here first.

I don't have norton, but I have read that for other people it was a new norton upgrade that wouldn't let them connect. When they disabled or uninstalled norton they could get back in the store.

Today I installed itunes 7.4.3.1 on my coworker's computer, and it worked fine - no connection problem to the store at all! It's somewhat ironic because she doesn't ever buy anything, she just uses itunes to listen to music from cds. So then I thought maybe it would work on my computer - they're both dell windows xp, and I know they have different firewall and anti-virus software etc, but I was hopeful.

Well it didn't work on my computer, and I went through again and tried turning off my firewall and anti-virus stuff, but nothing helped. So I uninstalled that and put itunes 7.3.2.6 back on and it works fine with my firewall and anti-virus stuff. I just don't get it. I also saved copies of my network diagnostics with 7.4.3.1 and 7.3.2.6 and compared them; they are exactly the same.

So, question still unanswered - bumping to top....

I am still unable to connect. I have uninstalled iTunes and reinstalled an earlier version (7.3.1.3), however, it was not able to open because the library had been saved in the newer version...

Can anyone tell me where i can download version 7.3.2.6? The older version i have is version 7.3.1.3.

It seems complaining to Apple has had no effect, so I continue to assume we can rely only on this forum's users for a solution!!!


PS - I am also not able to connect to Windows live or yahoo messenger since my upgrade to NIS 2008 (see previous post of mine). Al though I am not a techie, I have a feeling all of these issues are related - it seems the ports that are used for the protocols for all these programs, are being blocked.

It's pretty sad when the company that produces the item that is having the problem is asking their customer for the solution!...for them to say post it on the forum to see if another user could help...that's nice.

I have been having the error now 3 straight days. I e-mailed Apple and they gave me the same response others had received...the date and time issue...the cookies...all the solutions are not working.

I am not wanting to uninstall this...again...and risk losing everything with installing the old version.

I sure hope they get this working...they meaning Apple...not they meaning the customers.
