In need of help badly (Pioneer Head Unit)

Hi All,

Recently got an AVIC-D3 head unit and a CD-I200 ipod cable with a 160 GB Ipod classic. I've been experiencing something weird - when listening to music it will eventually freeze the track title and duration display - ie :50/3:00 or whatever the time is, the song title and the bar all freeze. I can hit next/previous track and it changes the title, but the time still stays at the last song. This happens without fail each time I use after about 5 minutes of use. Does anyone have any idea what this could be?

Pioneer says it's Apple, Apple says it's Pioneer, Stereo dealer say's it's my ipod... I love fingerpointing

Hi Zombie,

I'm in exactly the same situation I have a Pioneer AVH-P5900DVD and same thing no video playback as Apple have locked down the TV out function.. Apple blame Pioneer and Pioneer say its Apple. I can't believe Apple have taken such a ridiculous step in locking down the TV out function and P!55ings so many people off.

Yeah, it ***** i have the avic-D3 connected to the 80 gb classic trough the CD-I200, and im not sure but with the update 1.02 i think they fixed the problem with the freezing display after a few songs. And i have pretty cool movies on my ipod that gets me very angry that i cannot watch them in the head unit!!! :S

But anyways does anybody knows a way to go around this problem??? If MAYBE i spend the extra $50 and buy that dock would i be able to watch the movies on the avic?

Thanks!

I have also just discovered this problem today which makes me extreaammmly angry. I spend soo much money at apple, and I worry that this will get over looked. I have an AVIC-D3 with the 160GB Ipod. I got rid of my 5th Gen 80GB so I could put all my video on there....but now? for what? I wish apple would fix the video out issue.
Thanks
Aaron

I also have found the same problem as most of you have reported. I just got a new Nano and the video does not work with my AVIC D3 either. I have a friend at Apple tech support and he tracked down some info on the problem. Apparently the new generation of ipods have a different video out cable that is available from Apple, they have gone to a composite output so the IP200 cable will not work for video. I guess unless Pioneer redesigns their cable to work with composite video we are out of luck!

Lots of talk about the AVIC-D3s. I have an AVIC-N4 that will not communicate with my 80GB Classic _AT ALL_. No video. No music. Nothing. I get an error message on my head unit reading ERROR A0. Pioneer says to fix it on their end would mean to redesign the board (a 10 month project). They also say that Apple should be able to fix problem with a Firmware update. Please help, Apple!!

Hello,
I have an eclipse avn-6610 head unit. My 160 ipod classic does the exact same thing you pioneer owners describe. It works but the gets stuck on one song and freezes up with a duration time. I contacted eclipse and they said Apple changed something in the gen 6 IPOD that makes it incompatible. Hopefully it gets fixed. I noticed a few people claimed that the update 1.2 fixed this. Is that confirmed??? Any Eclipse owners experiencing this same problem.
