No AU-instruments showing, but validation is Ok.

I have installed Logic Studio on same system partition as some other DAWs I have used this far; Cubase 4 and Live 6.

I have some softsynths installed both as VSTs and AUs. Among others, these are NI Komplete, IK Multimedia Sonik Synth/Sampletank, Arturia, Gmedia, reFx and Korg ones. These work perfectly in both Cubase and Live.

The collection of softsynths were validated when installing Logic 8, but none show up when setting up a track or in the Library. This really seems to be a mystery to me.

I would like to add that all of my AU effects plug-ins works as expected in Logic. But no softsynth. Why should this be so?

Should I repair and install the whole system, or is this just a simple little mistake on my part?

In advance, thank you for answering.

P.s. I would like to further add that I can't start to use Soundtrack Pro because of the fact that the AU validation in Soundtrack won't complete. The AUval stops suddenly, and in spite of repeated restarts of AUval/soundtrack pro the validation won't be completed.

I dunno but there's another guy on the SOS forum having a similar issue, and Apple are scratching their heads and investigating solutions - if anything comes of that I will post back here.

I would try moving the plugins - at this stage, I would try anything easy to try and find something that has an effect on the issue, before doing drastic stuff like big reinstalls etc...

I have re-installed Logic(along with Soundtrack), and now I am able to get AU softsynths to show and play.

I've had Logic crash after loading just a couple softsynths, but that is probably ok when I have fixed permissions/directory/defragmentation with Diskwarrior/iDefrag.
I'll rapport on how AUValidation goes when Vst-AU wrapper is enabled once more.
