The first letter often go missing

I have been using MB Black C2d for two months.
when I type, the first letters often go missing.
I thought I just need more time to get familiar with keyboard.
Not always, but the first letters still, sometimes go missing.
I have to hit backspace few times to re-type the missing first letter or re-type whole sentence again.
It's really frustrating.

This problem occurs for a while now. I am realy wondering if apple feel more concern about keeping a good service to the usual mac users or providing excellent marketing strategy. Obiously when we only look a few days backward (macworld in SF for ex), they prefer selling than caring.

One solution to make them really feel concerned and rushed about that would be to contact any computer related press and tell them what we know, the endless unresolved issue, note the forum activity and notice the erased previous thread!

With all our attemps, no one received a satisfying answer from Apple, everything remains unanswered and mysterious.
Maybe, any article in a widely spread media will be a trigger to wake them up and make them DO something for the people who spend so much to have a good quality computer.

Oi, Apple! Why are you behaving like a bunch of Microsoft geeks and ignoring this problem?! Having to re-type the first letter is a royal pain in the neck. When I give it some thought, not even my Commodore Plus/4 from 1985 had this problem, so my $3300 MBP certainly shouldn't, especially running the world's latest and greatest operating system, Leopard. Come on Apple, put your Windows Vista laptops down and start fixing this problem. Unless somebody in Internet world all of a sudden says it's ok to start a web address as ww. I could continue to start my emails with ello, or ow are you, or anything else that looks like I'm doing a lame impersonation of Dick Van **** in Mary Poppins. Sort it out, Apple nerds!

That was about time. The update mostly fixed the problem. Still I feel some issues when typing into firefox input fields. I mean, I missed few first characters again. I wonder if this is due to the fact that I've got so used to screw up typing that now I am not able to type anymore. Anyhow, it would be good to have the fix for Tiger as well. I don't understand why Apple didn't think of it. Not everybody is moving to Leopard, yet.

I have only read of MBPs, MBs or iMac users suffering from this problem (am I right in thinking they all use similar hardware?)

I have a MacPro (I know, wrong forum) that keeps missing the first keystroke. It came pre-installed with Leopard (bought end of last year).

I'm just wondering if there are any other MacPro users who are suffering from this?

I installed the firmware update just a few weeks ago. Right after that, it seemed the first keystroke missing-issue was solved. I had that issue since the 10.5.2 update. But in the last week-and-a-half, the problem is returning! It's really driving me crazy. Please, apple engineers, look into this. Especially note the fact that the problem occured after 10.5.2 update, was gone after the firmware update in February, and seems to be reappearing since half March 2008. Thanks!

Well, let me chime in and say that I have the exact same problem. I downloaded the keystroke-problem update about a month ago and it seemed to make a difference, but now it's back to the same behavior: clicking on an inactive window will cause the first letter of whatever you type to be ignored.

Has anyone actually called tech support to see what they say? Very frustrating.
