The first letter often go missing

I have been using MB Black C2d for two months.
when I type, the first letters often go missing.
I thought I just need more time to get familiar with keyboard.
Not always, but the first letters still, sometimes go missing.
I have to hit backspace few times to re-type the missing first letter or re-type whole sentence again.
It's really frustrating.

I just got my MacBook and it does the same. I thought I was going crazy, having to re-type my password only to find the first character missing. Help?

I have the same problem on my MacBook Pro. I do not think it started until I upgraded to Leopard.

I think that software update was for the keyboard freezing issue not the first letter missing issue that I'm / we're having....

ave posted this problem many times as suggested and really had hopes the software update would address it but no. No change, still the same problem as you can see from the first word typed here.

I have the same problem. I have been complaining about it from day one. They finally changed out the keyboard. I think I got a much better keyboard, but it did not help the problem!!

I get more crazy every day about it. Passwords chats etc all has to be written twice or checked because almost every time the first letter is missing.

Your mention of the Commodore.....

There was never a known ROM flaw ever listed for the Apple II series. How times have changed.

Keyboard firmware update available, 2-19-08. Here's hoping they got it fixed.

Nice - but I have the same issue with my 20" first Gen Intel iMac. That's iMac as in - not a notebook.

I've installed the keyboard firmware update and I've had a first letter go missing three times and counting.

I have the same problem since day one of my santarosa Macbook. Not a big one, but an annoying issue. Software patches didn't fix it so far
