iSync Conduit not visible in HotSync Conduit Manager

Hi,

I just received my brand new iMac Intel and I got problems to sync my Palm Tungsten E2

The iSync conduit is not visible in the HotSync Conduit Manager !

I'll appreciate any help,

Thanks

I have a treo 650 and everything was working fine on tiger. Now I installed leopard and first a few conduits did not show up. I reinstalled palm desktop but when I go to abilitate palm syncronization, it tells me that many conduits are in conflict or incompatible, so it needs to deactivate and put them in another folder. Why is it doing it? Has anybody had the same problem and can give me an answer?

Welcome to Apple Discussions.

'It' is behaving as you describe because your reinstallation of the Palm Desktop placed conduits in your active Conduits folder which conflict with the iSync Palm Conduit. Those conduits are:

• Address Conduit
• Calendar Conduit
• Contacts Conduit
• Datebook Conduit
• Tasks Conduit
• ToDo Conduit

Any combination of those conduits creates a conduit conflict. To use iSync to synchronize a Palm device, all must be deactivated as they were before you reinstalled the Palm Desktop. You do so by dragging all six to the Disabled Conduits folder. Both folders can be found at…

Macintosh HD:Library:Application Support:Palm HotSync

When you say that at "… first a few conduits did not show up," what exactly do you mean? Which conduits? Show up in what manner?

Are you aware that iSync 3 and the iSync Palm Conduit bundled embedded in it do not operate properly under Mac OS X 10.5 or 10.5.1?

Thanks you for the explanation. Infact I have tried putting the conflict conduits in the disabled folder ( just following the instructions it asks you if you want to do so) but then the palm treo 650 appears on the isync with an exclamation point and when I try the sincronization it does not work (I tried with appointments on iCal and it does not transfer the computer on the phone nor vice versa).
Actually when I try the procedure again, it does the same thing so maybe it did non move the conduits. I then looked in the position you mentioned (library/application support/palm hotsync) but I only find a folder with conduits, not one with disabled conduits. Do I have to create one or should it do it automatically? after I create one how do I phisically move the conduits?

Q: When you say that at "… first a few conduits did not show up," what exactly do you mean? Which conduits? Show up in what manner?
A:in the conduits manager I opened the windows and the conduits you mentioned were non there(probably because they were already in the disabled conduits folder which I cannot find)

Q:Are you aware that iSync 3 and the iSync Palm Conduit bundled embedded in it do not operate properly under Mac OS X 10.5 or 10.5.1?
A: The question is how can I make the syncronization work anyway. Is it possible?
Thanks

Dear Mr. Lafferty,

I have a leopard upgraded MacBook pro,
OS X, version 10.5, Build 9A581, last 4 digits of my serial number are LX92.
As the other disscutants I cannot synchronise my Palm TX with my Mac.
There is no isync Conduit in my Hotsync conduit manager.
Nor can I integrate any device in isync.

Could you send my whatever is needed.

Best regards, Thomas Freiman.

Welcome to Apple Discussions.

This is problematic, because the iSync Palm Conduit I can send does not work with iSync 3 and Mac OS X 10.5 or later. It works only with iSync 2.4 to correct an issue while running Mac OS X 10.4.9 through 10.4.11.

I will attempt to obtain and certify a conduit for Mac OS X 10.5 and later this weekend. The initial reports of issues with Mac OS X 10.5 did not involve an 'invisible' conduit.

Your reply indicates that you have installed the Palm Desktop into a user account, not into the base account with administrator privileges. I don't recommend doing that, but you will find the equivalent folders in your configuration here:

Macintosh HD:Users:<username>:Library:Application Support:Palm HotSync

In answer to your other question, you cannot. If you seriously want to synchronize a Palm device under any version of Mac OS X 10.4 or later—including Mac OS X 10.5.x—you should instead install the Missing Sync for Palm OS. While it is not yet certified for use with Mac OS X 10.5, it soon will be, and you can download a copy of the nearly ready beta release here.

Dear Mr. Lafferty,

I wrote you on November 28th, you respondet, that you will send my something. Just a repetition:

I bought a Palm Z22 because my Palm M125 would not longer sync after I installed Leopard. To my dismay, the Z22 won't sync either! I have lengthy discussion by phone and by email with Palm support and the are trying, but to no avail yet! iSync appears in the Hot Sync Conduit Manager, but is not listed as 'synchronize' in the 'next Hot Sync action' list. If I click on conduit settings I get the window that lets me enable the device for I Sync. When I push the HotSync button on the Z22, it acts like it is syncing, but nothing changes.

I'd be grateful for any help and would be glad to send my lengthy email discussions with Palm if that would help

Barbara
