Drivers for Dell 1320c Color Laser

Can the drivers be downloaded? The Dell download site offers only Windows XP driver downloads for this printer. The Dell guy (sorry I buy Dells for my workplace) said it would work with a Mac if I downloaded the drivers.

Thanks,

Steve

Hey all

Some useful tips here - thank you - however (to johnfoster) you say the steps are almost the same for 10.5 (I am running 10.5.5) except you don't have to download the driver. I followed your steps and let it auto select the driver - it defaults to Generic PostScript Printer - and the printer seems to know something is happening as it makes noises but nothing comes out - can't even manual feed. I do not have the option anywhere of selecting 250 sheet feeder as an option. I'm thinking it's using the wrong driver.

Any tips?

And I know Dell is ** and should be thrown out but I didn't choose it or pay for it!

Cheers

C

Finally a driver release by Dell!
http://support.us.dell.com/support/downloads/download.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen&relea seid=R201955&formatcnt=1&libid=0&fileid=280642

Link at the page is corrupt so here's the right one: http://ftp.us.dell.com/printer/1320c%20Macintosh%20Driver.zip.

Instructions included in the zip file, if you point it to the ppd file (at print using > 'other') you should be fine.
Don't know why there are 2 ppd files included, maybe there are different versions of the printer, I selected Dell1320cn.ppd which worked right away.
