How to get Verizon Motorola Razr V3 photos into iPhoto

How can I transfer my Razr V3 photos to my Powerbook for inclusion in iPhoto? I used to do it pic-by-pic by sending the pictures to my email, but that was time consuming and kind of expensive (each pic I sent cost something like $.25) Recently, though, I had to put a block on all text messages. So now I can't send pictures to my email, since that's kind of like sending a text.

I tried Bluetooth, but only contact and calendar-type "stuff" could be exchanged with my Powerbook. Not photos. I also tried Bluetooth File Exchange, but it said my phone was lacking in certain "things" to be able to make use of that program. I also tried USB, but no luck

It would seem that Verizon (unfairly) wants its customers to pay through the nose for things like file exchanging. It kind of stinks when you consider that other cell companies totally. In this day and age, all digital devices sholud be compatible. I read on another forum that AT&T phones allow files such as my photos to be transferred.

It's interesting that Verizon supports file transfers on some phones and not others. I joined Verizon almost 2 years ago, so I suppose it's possible that there have been updates to their software since then that allow file transfers more often than not.

I guess I need to recant my rant. Or at least amend it to say that Verizon "forces" some customers to pay for file transfers, while others are able to use their phones to their fullest extent.

My next step will be to get the software on my phone updated and see what happens. If there's no change, I'll start researching which phone to get next. In January I'll be eligible for a free, new phone, and since I am happy with the most important elements of cell phone useage (service and coverage), I'll be sticking with Verizon. But as George already discovered, Motorola phones and Verizon don't seem to play well together when it comes to Bluetooth, so I won't get my hopes up too much that an update to the software will do much for me.

One thing is for certain. The V3 can exchange files via Bluetooth and USB for some people who are not Verizon customers. This is not a rant, but an observation. So it's not totally the phone that's the problem. It's apparently a combination of phone, software, and service provider.

I have found this to be an interesting and enlightening discussion. My thanks to all who have participated. You've been quite helpful.
