I cracked the glass on my iphone screen. It seems to work fine for now anyway. What is easier: replace the iphone or replace the screen? Is it easy to roll all my info and phone number to a new account? Is there an easy way to get the screen repaired?
Ok, so my husband cracked his LCD screen and went to an apple store and paid $260 to get a new phone. We should be thrilled right??? Wrong.
I think this policy *****.. sorry. I guess I understand about THEIR cost, blah, blah, blah,.... but try to see it from my end.
Say you bought a cool car for $50,000. Then, one day you get a flat tire. You take it to the dealership, and they ask for $20,000 more, and you get a new car. The next day, you get another flat tire. Are you just supposed to keep shelling out more money just to be able to drive on four tires? It's insane.
Leslie, my phone presumably got run over by a car. i went to the apple store and the guy said that it couldn't be fixed at the store and that i had to go online. Could you help me by letting me know what you did? Free would be awesome but not necessary.
Why does everybody keep comparing a phone to a car? You're comparing apples to oranges. The $250 covers a bit more than just a piece of glass. It includes the replacement of the touch sensitive screen and the electronics that make the screen work the way it does.
If you bought the phone with a credit card, check with your credit card company. Some CC companies will take care of replacement costs with their warranty. You might also want to check your home owners policy and see if your insurance will cover it.
One must be careful with insurance companies these days. People have used insurance companies as a means to be careless at the insurers expense.
Many companies will not hesitate to drop you for too many nuisance claims regardless of amount.
My auto insurance company rep told me "don't file another claim or we'll drop you". Now I have a $3000 car repair that I have to pay for myself! At least I raised my deductible to $1000 now and my insurance cost has gone down.
