Touch with universal dock ma045g/a

got my touch today (great).

however is it supposed to work with the universal dock (oldish one, model MA045G/A) ?

volume worked via remote & that was it.

I didn't order the video cables with the dock (I may run to the Apple store tomorrow to see if they have them) ... but because they are also "hot off the press", I suspect you need the new Apple cables to get everything to work.

However, one of the other posters in this thread did indicate they ordered both the dock and the AV cable. Maybe they received theirs and can report how things are working with all the new stuff!

Standard control functionality with the remote? I totally agree, it's kind of lame, but think about it, it's like mapping apples (no pun intended) to oranges. I would imagine a firmware update could do the trick, although they would have to somehow code/map the remote's 'standard iPod' wheel functionality to the multi-touch functionality of the Touch. A multi-touch remote would have done the trick... 🙂
