AOL webmail

I've never tried Aol webmail, but do you know if it supports Safari browser? Try it on Safari and see if you get any messages about using an unsupported browser.

I have the same problem with AOL webmail using the iPod touch. It's a jumble garbled mess and very hard to read.

I can't seem to access my aol account either. I can see the homepage fine but it freezes up everytime and won't let me do anything. Is there a fix for this or no?

I may have a similar problem. I'm thinking of buying an iPod Touch and one of the things I'd like to do is read my AOL web mail. Please no AOL comments 😉 I tried at the Apple store and at a friend's house and got the same error logging in. It appears to be timing out. All other web access seems fine. I just tried to log in via Safari on my Mac and it hangs after you click sign in (after entering username and password) for minutes and then up comes my mail. I could swear this used to work a month ago. I've tried www.webmail.aol.com on the iPod and webmail.aol.com and basic.mail.aol.com on Safari. Both seem to have similar results. When the mail finally comes up, it all seems to work fine on Safari. The iPod errors out. Any ideas?

You have to use the mobile email site, which works great by the way.

Hmm. I'll try m.webmail.aol.com when I get back to the Apple store. I did notice on my PC that AOL just updated their webmail code (sometime between 5:00 and 10:30pm) and now it works just dandy on Safari on my Mac.

Actually the few times that I've tried using m.webmail.aol.com I have always gotten the "an error occurred while trying to process your request please try again later" error message. I've ranted & raved about AOL - Mac compatibility enough so I wont get into it again. So far I've never been able to get it to work on my ipod touch but wonders never cease. (PS Apple's not the one at fault here I'm sure its some kind of AOL user-unfriendly issue.)

AOL isn't accessible on my touch either.Will try the above version later at home.
Also,(hope you don't mind me pointing it out?) but iPT system requirements for OSX users is 10.4.10 or later.I noticed you're running 10.4.5.Have you tried updating your OS and attempting the mobile web version AOL again?

I lazily didnt look & just assumed that was my version, I actually have 10.4.10 but I was wondering if you ever look at this thread again if you can mention whether you got AOL mail working on yours. It seems to me like it is not going to work over here, wish I knew why though.

I tried webmail.aol.com , basic.webmail.aol.com and m.webmail.aol.com and all produced the same error message on an iPhone after entering password and clicking sign on. I didn't have an iPod touch handy.

I didn't notice the the system info appears in the posts. I don't have the iPod yet. I was trying this at the Apple Store and on a friend's iPod so it can't be my OS. Sorry for the confusion and thanks for the info.

I had the same thing happen. Just scroll down all the way to the botton and click on "accesable version" from then on it should always load that version. Or just use the mobile version.

can't believe it but as I live and type on my touch now the web mail aol link actually worked!
viewed all my mail including photos without having to click on the attachment! How very cool is that?
this pod takes my breath away with every week that goes by. It is the dogs testes!
