Konica Minolta 2530DL

Hi,

Since I've upgraded my Macbook Pro to Leopard, my Konica Minolta 2530DL Color Laserprinter stops printing... On my second notebook, a 12" Powerbook G4, running on 10.4.10 Tiger it still works.

The printer gets recognized by OS X, (with the KM Cups drivers), and the USB connection looks fine. Although, when I want to print something there's nothing send to the printer. The print-job says it is stopped. I've already tried to re-install the drivers (latest version from Konica)

Regards,

Macbook Pro 2.2Ghz, Mac OS X (10.5)

I'm glad to have my printer back for now. But one additional question. Before Leopard, I had three configurations stored for this printer; one full color, one B&W, one B&W lower res for draft uses. Those secondary profiles were deleted during my original printer troubleshooting rounds, but now, I can't seem to get back to a spot that will let me set things like the dpi, and no color. Is it just not available under the 2430 ppc driver, or am I just not looking in the right place? Mac switcher since June, so some of the under-the-hood stuff isn't quite second nature yet.

Thanks in advance for assistance!

Dear all,

I work for Konica Minolta support in Europe and I am very interested into the problems you are having.
Could you supply me with some more information?

What type of processor do you use, Intel or not?
What driver version are you using?
What is the language of your OS X.5?
Can you print the Printer Test Page?
Are you logged in as administrator or with a user with admin rights?
Etc.

Thanks,

Hugo -

Sorry to intrude on this thread but I wonder if KM can help with another KM/Leopard issue - with the Magicolor 3300. I started a thread on this at http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1234280&tstart=0.

Basically it doesn't work with Leopard. It was pointed out that the PPD fails cupstest ppd (under Leopard, its OK under Tiger) though I cannot see why.

Any help KM can bring to this would be appreciated.

Using the 2430 Driver really works. I have created a separate printer using that driver alongside the existing printer using the correct driver so that I can print from my powerbook still running Tiger. It seems to print from all applications OK on both machines.

I would hope that KM will produce the an updated 2530 driver, even if the printer is obsolete I am sure they still want to sell the consumables for it.
