Lexmark p4350

I can't get this printer to print since installing Leopard.

According to this page http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=306684 the printer driver is included in Leopard and if I go into Print and Fax in System Preferences it is there.

Every time I try to ask it to print from different applications this message comes up "/usr/libexec/cups/backend/usb failed"

What now?

Spent all day yesterday and this morning installing and uninstalling the lexmark 5470 drivers. The funny thing is I had to take my machine in for unrelated repair this morning and while I was waiting, a customer next to me had brought his machine AND lexmark printer and had the Apple tech guy take a look. Sure enough, the tech guy got the printer to work by changing the name of the PDE driver folder located in Library/printer/driver/pde. No need to delete the plugins, but they are apparently old which are causing leopard problems. The printer was not an x5470, but it was a Lexmark All-in-one. Don't recall the model number. Oh, the lexmark support person I talked with in the a.m. said the new driver would be up 1/8. Anyways, a haven't had a chance to try renaming the folder yet because my machine is still in repair. If anybody else has tried this, i'd be curious if it works.
