mounted dmg files will not eject

I am having problems eject dmg mounted install files. Right now have 6 of them that won't go away...when you try to eject from finder...finder closes instead.

Anyone else experiencing this or have a solution.

MacBook Black, iMac G5, iPhone 8 gb, Mac OS X (10.4.10)

Same problem for DMGs and external drives!

I am running Leopard upgrade on my shiny new iMac. Tried restarting, appears to behave inconsistently - very, very frustrating.

Has someone written a program which executes the "Force Dismount" command? I am a n00b to Apple and not too confident with good ol Terminal.

I will try to 'Force Quit' + Relaunch Finder to see if that helps next time..

Same problem, I have a new Macbook pre-installed with Leopard. I can only remove the dmg by using Disk Utility.

I found a quick fix for this problem, doesn't prevent it, but ejects the dmb without having to access terminal:
