Leopard and Sleep

I installed Leopard on my PowerMac (Dual 2GHz G5) and now have an intermittent sleep problem with it. Three times in as many days, when I put the computer to sleep the video signal stops, USB stop but the fans continue to spin up. Eventually I get the famous wind tunnel effect. The only way to restart the machine is to hold down the power button. Does anyone have any suggestion about where I could look. Perhaps some old bit of software from Tiger is still lurking around causing problems? How can I tell?

I have the same problem and this is after taking my Mac in for service and having them replace the logic board. It took over a month and hasn't helped. Plus now, Time Machine won't work and I don't know why. So in addition to problems, I have no reliable back up, which at least I had before.

Does anyone know what is going on here?

Although I currently am not experiencing this problem, I noticed two major factors that appear to be related with everyone experiencing the sleep/fan/crash problem. 1) Everyone appears to have a PowerPC or a non-intel processor. 2) Everyone has recently upgraded to 10.5.1. Okay, you can call me "captain obvious" if you want, but this appears to be a problem that Apple is going to have to take care of with a firmware update. Leopard is designed to work with intel processors and is obviously having some issues with older Macs. To anyone who has a non-intel Mac I would recommend avoiding upgrading to 10.5.1 until this issue is resolved. After all nothing is worse then a bad apple.

To those of you who are suffering through this problem, I feel your pain, and please continue to talk about this issue until it is resolved. Our PowerPC's are a dying breed, but that doesn't mean they should be forgotten about by Apple. Best of luck to you all.
